I really love Sir Arthur Conan-Doyle’s sense of humor. It reflects in his works in Sherlock Holmes.
My friend smiled.
“Holmes, the busybody!”
His smile broadened.
“Holmes, the Scotland Yard Jack-in-office!”
Holmes chuckled heartily.” —Dr. Grimesby Roylott and Sherlock Holmes, “The Adventure of the Speckled Band.”
THE MUSGRAVE RITUAL
Yap, Holmes can really drive any flatmate crazy.
- Do you think Sherlock gave John a share of the 20,000 Pounds he got for solving the case in "The Blind Banker"?
I’m in the process right now on writing a BBC Sherlock Fan fiction. And it’s going to be based on one of the original canon short stories. Actually, one of my favorites in the short stories that Sir Arthur Conan-Doyle wrote.
I know, I know. I’m not finish with my Merlin fanfiction “Coming of Age” and here I’m making something for another fandom. Well, let’s just say my writer’s block got the better of me.
Someone said that a good cure for writer’s block is to go and make other stories for the meantime and come back with the story again.
So I’m hoping that this story will turn out well and afterwards I could processed with the other.
Wish me luck!
“You’re not hurt, Watson? For God’s sake, say that you are not hurt!”
It was worth a wound–it was worth many wounds–to know the depth of loyalty and love which lay behind that cold mask. The clear, hard eyes were dimmed for a moment, and the firm lips were shaking. For the one and only time I caught a glimpse of a great heart as well as of a great brain. All my years of humble but single-minded service culminated in that moment of revelation.” —from “The Adventure of the Three Garridebs”
“What a woman — oh, what a woman!” cried the King of Bohemia, when we had all three read this epistle. “Did I not tell you how quick and resolute she was? Would she not have made an admirable queen? Is it not a pity that she was not on my level?”
“From what I have seen of the lady she seems indeed to be on a very different level to your Majesty,” said Holmes coldly.” —From “A Scandal in Bohemia
